Mental Health & Wellness
Family Service League: Hillel partners with FSL to provide free counseling services with our in-house social worker, Julie Kaplan. Julie is available in-person on Wednesdays and other weekdays virtually. Prior to scheduling with Julie, please reach out to her to set up an intake conversation.
The Jewish Board: The Jewish Board empowers New Yorkers, providing integrated mental health and social services with compassion and expertise. Email The Jewish Board here to request FREE counseling services through their partnership with Hillel!
Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS): CAPS provides mental health services to help students develop healthy minds and skills necessary for personal, academic, social success and safety.
TimelyCare: TimelyCare is a new telehealth platform that provides 24/7 virtual access to medical and mental health services, right from your mobile device or computer. Best of all, this service is for all Stony Brook undergraduate or graduate students, taking online or in-person classes

Accessibility & Career Advancement
Student Accessibility Support Center (SASC): The Student Accessibility Support Center is the designated support service center to help enable students with disabilities to develop their academic potential, by making their academic experience accessible.
Student Support Team: The Student Support Team coordinates efforts to assist students who encounter challenges or concerns in achieving success at Stony Brook University.
Jewish Career Network: The Jewish Career Network is an initiative out of Hillel International meant to connect Jewish students, alumni, and community members with one another through networking, mentorship, and job opportunities. Think of it like Jewish LinkedIn!
Hillel Student Mentorship: In a collaborative effort between Hillel and UJA, we are happy to offer the student mentorship program that connects Jewish students with successful members of the community in their chosen field. Applications are rolling here, but you can also reach out to Jessica directly for more information.
Food Insecurity
Stony Brook University Food Pantry: The pantry is located in the Stony Brook Union, Suite L-20 (lower level) and is open Monday through Friday 10am-2pm.

Safety & Security
Hillel collaborates with UPD and Student Affairs to develop security and Title VI plans as necessary for events.
Sexual Misconduct & Title IX: The Office of Equity and Access (OEA) is available to receive
Bias & Title VI / VII: Submissions via this form will be made to Office of Equity and Access (OEA) and will be investigated by their team and referred to other departments as necessary.
Title VI & Antisemitism Incident Consultations: Hillel staff will schedule time with you to discuss your options and ensure you are provided adequate emotional and logistical support following an incident.
ReportCampusHate: Complaints can be filed through ReportCampusHate, a collaborative effort between the Anti-Defamation League, the Secure Community Network, and Hillel International. Through this website, the three organizations will ensure that Jewish students are supported and empowered to appropriately address the growing antisemitism on college campuses. The portal will also ensure proper tracking and reporting of antisemitic trends.

Financial Assistance
Direct Financial Assistance: Students who demonstrate extraordinary need can apply for direct financial assistance through Stony Brook Hillel. Contact Jessica for more information!
Hillel International Scholarships: Hillel International scholarships are for students who identify as Jewish, in the U.S. and Canada, who are attending or preparing to attend four-year colleges and universities or graduate school.
Jewish Scholarships Portal: Over 600 Jewish scholarships for college students in the United States and Canada are available on Hillel's Jewish Scholarships Portal! The portal connects students and parents to applications for scholarships ranging from $500 to more than $60,000 - and even fully paid tuition.
SHAI Scholarship: As a part of the Sephardic Heritage Alliance’s mission to educate, enhance, and benefit the Iranian Jewish culture and community, SHAI has established an educational scholarship/loan program to provide financial aid for education to members of our community who cannot otherwise afford this expense. Financial aid may be given in the form of grants/loans to an individual student for tuition, or grants/loans to a religious school or institution.
IAJF Community Assistance Fund: Iranian American Jewish Federation of New York provides direct financial assistance to the Persian community.
Jewish Free Loan Association: Jewish Free Loan offers interest-free loans on a non-sectarian basis to individuals and families whose needs are urgent and who may not qualify through normal financial channels. They can also be reached at (323) 761-8830.

Student Health Services: Student Health Services provides preventative health and comprehensive wellness, integrating primary care with other student needs inherent in a healthy lifestyle.

Gift of Life: Gift of Life’s mission is to cure blood cancer through cellular therapy. A patient's best chance of finding a match for a transplant is either within their family or with someone whom the person shares a common racial and/or ethnic background. Gift of Life works to connect those battling cancer with those willing to donate.

JQ: JQ is the premiere LGBTQ+ Jewish organization in Los Angeles. JQ celebrates the lives of LGBTQ+ Jews and their allies by transforming Jewish communities and ensuring inclusion through community building, educational programs, and support and wellness services, promoting the healthy integration of LGBTQ+ and Jewish identities.
Keshet: Keshet envisions a world in which all LGBTQ Jews and our families can live with full equality, justice, and dignity. By strengthening Jewish communities and equipping Jewish organizations with the skills and knowledge they need to make all LGBTQ Jews feel welcome, we work to ensure the full equality of all LGBTQ Jews and our families in Jewish life.
Eshel: Eshel’s mission is to build LGBTQ+ inclusive Orthodox Jewish communities. Eshel envisions a world where LGBTQ+ people and their families are full participants in the Orthodox community of their choice.

The Lunar Collective: The LUNAR Collective cultivates connection, belonging and visibility for Asian American Jews through intersectional community programming and authentic digital storytelling.
Sephardim / Mizrahim
Sephardic Jewish Club: SJC is an official campus organization and affiliated with Hillel that hosts awesome events like Chai & Chill, shabbat dinners, and more.
SAMi Global: SAMi’s model is to work side by side with Jewish communities and campus life to expand their work in engaging young Jewish life while also being the advocates and experts on the ground, working with underrepresented Sephardi and Mizrahi communities.
MyZuzah: Free kosher Mezuzot for Jewish adults
Jewish Roommate Matching: Whether you're looking for fellow observant students to make a kosher apartment, or just want to live with other Jewish students, Hillel is happy to play a little game of matchmaker.
